Oz: Winter of our discontent

It has been cold as balls here in VT. Blasted groundhog tells me that we will have six more weeks of winter. I hope to cap it off with a boy and some hot coco. The earth moves beneath our feet…are we really walking? We do not choose our destinations.

Day 30 – Magic wand day – Slow shutter speeds can be fun. I am experimenting more and more. I want to do something with fire. There is magic in the frozen air.

Day 31 – Fire walk with me day - I have been watching twin peaks religiously since my return. I like to eat lunch and stare into the fire place. Elements flicker and dance and recite esoteric poems in moonlit foyers.

Day 32 – Super bowl day – it’s the super bowl and I couldn’t care less. I sneak to parties to drink and eat free food. I spend the rest of my evening putting together enlargers. As I walk home buzzed this lamp post seemed so lonely. I gave it a hug.

Day 33 – Mundane day – The sky has been the most fantastical shade of blue recently. I wish that I had gotten some better shots, the framing on this is all off, but aren’t the colors pretty. Note: I need to get a tripod. STAT!

Day 34 – Icicle day – The Icicles hanging off the fire escape on my walk home were awesome. I couldn’t just post one. I took a bunch. They just seemed so impermanent.

Day 35 – Where’s my bike day - Oh I see, its buried under 100 feet of snow.

Mat Ryan: Jan 30, 31. February 1, 2, 3, 4.

This is my car. She's the only material item that I will truthfully say that I love.

This is being bored at work with a wax crayon used for marking tires.

I just really liked the compostion of this.

It takes one man to work, but 3 to supervise.

From the near top of Mt. Cardigan.

I wonder which direction the wind was blowing....

My bosses dog is super chill.

Alison, Day 30: Got my ducks in a row.

Day 30: these are both for day 30. The pictures I took for 31 and 32 are on a different memory card -- one I forgot to bring with me today.

Anyway. Friday (jan 30), I went over to my future house to drop some stuff off and when I did, I noticed a couple stray ducks had wandered toward the house from the pond down the street. I took their pictures, but they didn't turn out too fantastically. So after doing what I'd come to do, I drove down to the pond and photographed some other ducks. These are them.

They're very wild. And very loud. And very cute. And I had every desire to feed them until I read the sign that explains why feeding the ducks is very, very, very bad for them. Now I just like to admire them from a safe distance, and through a lens.

30th January 2009

A week ago my boyfriend was walking to the bus station and he took an other way than the one he normal goes. Suddenly he saw that symbol and the thaught that would be something for me, because I love Nine Inch Nails now for over 10 years!
So he took me there to show me the symbol and to look what it´s all about! The first time I looked at it I really thaught "cool - Nine Inch Nails", but than I looked again and I saw that the second N´s like the first N and you know.. the real NIN-logo has got a turned N.
Well.. so .. that´s not really a Nine Inch Nails symbol. At least for a moment I thaught it´d be one! =)

For all of you, who´re now wondering what it´s all about - it´s all about art! ; ) .. It was an add for www.nin.at. So.. all of you, who want to know more - ´ve a look!

And because I´m such a huge Nine Inch Nails fan... I show you a second photo, which I made a few weeks before christmas.
I was christmas-shopping and in a kids-store I saw those miracle-writing-pad and I just had to write it down! =)
