Harry: Day 8

After spending much of the day attempting to fruitlessly arrange all the things on my desk (yes, again), I thought I would take a photo of the midrange driver of my speakers. These little buggers are really the root of the problem, they just don't quite fit ANYWHERE, or at least anywhere that they don't sound awful.

Alison: Day 8. Snow in Florida.

It's a snowflake ornament on my Christmas tree. I felt compelled to take photos of it, but I'm really not thrilled with out any of them turned out. Seems like I could have produced much more captivating shots, right?

Any suggestions?

Jared Day 8: Graveyard

Took a late night walk through the graveyard near my house tonight. Kinda creepy. Kinda cool. It was pitch black except for some lights in the distance. Took a few shots in the freezing cold, this was the best of them. Didn't have a tripod so I used a headstone. I don't think they minded.

Jason: Day 7, Day 8

Day 7
This photo was taken after Susan (aka: Lily Rose) picked me up to go hang out and take some photos. My vision is not so perfect and I was not aware of the stick that was somehow stuck to this vehicle. She pointed it out and I was able to take the photo using the maximum zoom. We also went to walk around UF campus, but my camera was warning that the battery was running low on power moments after arriving on campus. I got a few shots, but this one really takes the cake for the day!

Day 8: "Don't Fall"
I was forced to get off work early today because of some issues concerning overtime, so I decided to take a trip up to the 11th floor before making my way home. I thought that a photo of the stairwell looking down would be a neat photo, but I found an even better one with this. This photo was taken on the 11th floor stairwell platform, stretching the camera out over the edge and looking down. There's a metal guard there so people don't fall, but leaving that out of the picture makes it seem otherwise. Thinking about it now, it would've had a bigger effect if I had put my feet closer to the edge and made them part of the shot.

pabs(t)mear: First post: January

Greetings everyone...

I know that it is the 22nd and not the first but I figured better late then never. I am not a photographer, but I am interesting in capturing memorys, actions, and moments so that I may never forget what or why or where I have been.

1. "He was reduced to flirting with waitpersons"

2. "He's considered to be an expert on potential accidents" 3. "The would be well fed and given a safe place to sleep"

4. "Otherwise put, just like daily life"

5. "We have work to do, and loads to lift"

6. "Ill wind blow far and find a ready welcome"

7. "Addict," said Crake"
8. "fear has homogenized his bowel"

9. "His time, what a bankrupt idea"

10. "He too is a castaway of sorts"

Oz : New Year New Day

I have been on the run from myself for the past two weeks. The internet is sparse for this modern day carnie. I've been traveling so hence minimal posts. Moments, and memories are hard to capture, it is the mundane things that are the most striking to me. I love remembering moments in time, that’s what my posts are about. This is a year of change and I invite you to join me. Let’s explore this insane messy existence and the swirling of the cosmos together.

Day 1- New Years day - I am sitting on a ledge both physically and metaphorically this year is about taking the leap into the next phase of my life. Lets hope I land on both feet.

Day 2 – Experience LA day – View from perishing square, just around the corner from my temporary apartment.

Photobucket

Day 3 – Disneyland day – Clock at Wilshire, looked cool in the fog and at night.

Photobucket

Day 4 – No leaving apartment day – I smoked too many cigarettes and played to much xbox today.

Photobucket

Day 5 – Observatory day – Went to Griffith Observatory today, I learned all about space and had some face time with James Dean.

Photobucket

Day 6 – Blast from the Past day – Met up with an old friend from middle school today. Spent some time thinking about the past and watched the sunset over downtown from the roof.

Photobucket

Day 7 – Self portrait day – I have been experimenting with self portraits recently. I need to get a shutter release thingy but for now I have to hit the timer button repeatedly.

Photobucket

Day 8 – Pirate bar day – Went with Mitch to our favorite bar only to find that the hipsters had invaded it requiring a long wait after the art walk. He took me to another bar a few blocks away that had a pirate theme. Awesome.

Photobucket

Day 9 – Rolling fog day – A heavy fog rolled into downtown and everything looked all eerie, went to the roof and took some more photos.

Photobucket

Day 10 – Haunted hotel day – Wondered around the hotel today, some rooms and floors are completely abandoned, It was too creepy and I scared myself a few times. Took some out of focus pictures of Duncan.

Photobucket

Day 11 – All for me day – Packed my stuff to leave for Sundance, took some photos in bed cause I was feeling saucy.

Photobucket

Day 12 – Full moon bond day – James Bond party and the moon was full. It looked perfect in a way that my camera cannot capture. The clouds and the light were just incredible.

Photobucket

Day 13 – Starfish beach day – Went to the beach with the brother, a very nice way to end my trip. Under the boardwalk we found a starfish, Duncan took it and returned it to the ocean. This is the biggest ripple I have ever witnessed, I feel lighter. Today reminds me of how beautiful the universe can be.

Look foraward to daily posts when I get back from being out on the road.

Patrick: Days 8 & 9

Still playing catch up. Here are my images for days eight and nine.

This piece is entitled away. It is technically a screencap but it is what it is. A usuable image. I was talking with a friend on aim and I typically have to run off and do various errands while we talk. So I'm constantly hitting the 'not available' thingy. This image went through the basic darkrooming process.

I call this one cut. It is actually a picture of a picture I took back in high school; however, I keep it on the front of my fridge cuz I really just like it. Its something I see every day in any case. At night my cat likes to mess with the frames on my fridge and this time something about the image was just memorably pitiful.

The picture itself was printed in a real dark room, while the image I'm presenting was completed in a digital darkroom.

Have a nice evening.

Sarah Jo- Day 8 and 9

Simple pics this time
First is the sign form the downtown square here in Ocala
Second is a friend of mine, Phil- we use to work together at a Christian Coffee House in Ocala

Rack 'Em Up

I took this picture at my friend's house. The table was already set up, but I added the pool stick to the mix. There's not much to it, but I thought it was the best one of the day. It could just be my opinion. lol

Alison, Day # 8: Pippa Dippa.

The sweetest (small) dog we've ever had. Pepper, AKA Pippa Dippa.

He's getting real old. It's strange, but it's the cutest thing. I kind of think of his as a slightly senile old man. The cute kind.

He's got these big longing eyes. And he can't help it if he pees himself. He barks/talks when there's nothing to bark/talk to.

And he's put on some weight and his body has changed. He's almost entirely blind, but you wouldn't know it by the way he gets around our house. One of the only times it's noticeable is when all the lights go off before bedtime and we all leave the room. He just stands there. When it gets dark too quickly, he can't adjust. Sometimes we forget he's going blind.

But he's a sturdy old dog. At a ripe old age of whatever he is (he's a shelter dog, so we really don't know), he still runs and plays ball (if he can see it), he hangs with the big girls (my dogs), and keeps the little one (my mom's other poodle, Bowie) in line.

And despite his vision going, he sniffer still works like a Bloodhound's. He can smell food from a mile away and'll be at your seat in 0.7 seconds if you sit down with a plate. As if every nibble could be his last bite, he savors everything from lettuce to venison.

Anyone who says people food is bad for a dog, see exhibits A-D: Lucy, Blondie, Pepper, and Bowie. They're hearty, strong, and beautiful dogs. This is a potentially controversial topic, but anyone should know I'd never do anything that I believe could potentially harm my children (AKA pets).

I'm going to do my best to post tomorrow through Monday, but I'll be out of town and have no idea when or where I'll find internet access. I'll still take the pictures, but worse case scenario -- I post them on Monday night/Tuesday when I get home from Texas.

Mat Ryan: Jan. 8

Uh. That's all I have to say about today. I woke up at 4 a.m. with that feeling of every hair follicle on your body raising as your insides feel as if they just went through a blender... Then I tried to go to work at 7:30 and got the feeling as I was walking through the door so I was late to work... Then I managed to work for 4 hours, before deciding to go home for the day. Eventually the feeling got better, the snow outside was calming, and after relaxing for a while I took a long drive, and I became obsessed with delapitated barns for whatever reason. This is my favorite, I just love the natural colours of the neglected wood.

Robby, day#8: Revolution

I love street-photography and I love San Francisco.
I love revolution spirit and I love that poster.

It is a bit "journalistic-style" but it was almost hidden and I wasn't able to find any other composition for it... but it doesn't matter, just see it made my day ;)

8th January 2009

Today when I put on my clothes I deceided to wear that t-shirt. When I looked into the mirror I thaught - wow.. I love that t-shirt and we had also an amazing time in the Disney Land in Paris and so I put it off - made a photo - and put it on again. =)
That t-shirt´s from the "Tower of Terror" and.. whoho.. the first time it´s quite shocking!
