Lily Rose Post 28, Cat Toys

So Wednesday night I hung out with some friends and we bought an 18 pack of Bud Light. When I woke up Thursday and started cleaning up and breaking down the box, I quickly realized that Bella would love to use it as a fort. She has an obsession with boxes and bags! I tore the end flaps off of one side and gave it to her, but she didn't want to go in, so I ripped the other side open and that made her MORE than happy! I was playing with her and Tommy decided that he wanted to join in the fun. I was able to get a few pictures of each of them, and although I cut the top of his head off in this shot, I liked this one the best. I love how his little "arms" are stretched out and trying to grab my camera strap and he just looks happy.

Lily Rose Day 26: The Colors of Fall & Day 27: The Skateboarder

Day 27: The Skateboarder
I was watching the skateboarders and the guy doing bicycle tricks at the park for awhile, but could not get any decent shots of any of them until this one! I was so pleased with this shot that I had to post it here. I know it's a little bit dark because of the shadows, but you can still see that he is off his board and in the air. Very cool!

Day 26: Colors of Fall
I found this leaf on the ground and kept it because of it is made up of all the key colors of Fall. I set it on the sidewalk so that there was a contrast and you could see all the vivid colors and then snapped this photo.

Lily Rose Day 24: Taxi? & Day 25: Obstructed View?

Day 25: Obstructed View?
This photo was taking on Payne's Prarie through the fence as the sun was setting. I like taking photos of the sky because there are always so many shades of color to try and capture at any given time of day. It reminds me of how many layers one person or thing can have and that keeps me on my toes ladies and gentlemen....

Day 24: Taxi?
I took this picture in the parking lot of the Veteran's hospital here in Gainesville. I went in with the intention of taking a picture of the flag with the streetlight glow, but quickly realized it was still too dark for my camera, so I settled on this shot.

Lily Rose Day 23: Beautiful Evening Sky

This is probably the most amazing color scheme I've ever seen make up the sky! I didn't touch up the color at all, this is exactly as I took it. This is the sky over Archer Road if you were heading toward the interstate. I was going over to pick up Jason for dinner and a movie at my apartment and was so thrilled that I actually had my camera with me! Absolutely breathtaking!

Lily Rose Day 21: Signs & Day 22: Guys on Campus

Day 22: Guys On Campus
Jason and I both had today off, so we went to UF's campus and tried to get some inspiration. We walked around for a little while and found ourselves in the "Plaza of the Americas", taking pictures of various buildings and whatnot. Well, in this shot, I was trying to catch the guy on the skateboard, that's actually halfway out of the shot, and ended up with half of him, half of Jason and some other guy in the background. So it's a nice triangle sample of guys that can be found on and around campus...not too shabby!

Day 21: Signs
I took this shot on my way to pick up Jason. It's the corner of 34th St and 16th Ave, but I was able to get the pedestrian crossing sign in the picture too. I really like the colors in this picture; I felt that they were all pretty vivid and crisp.

Lily Rose Day 15, 16, 17, 18 & 19: Playing Catch-Up

Day 19: Sunset Over Gainesville
I was waiting on a friend to come out of the store and really liked the colors of the sky, so I snapped this shot. I know it's not very inventive, but I hope you enjoy it.

Day 18: Self-Portrait
This is me driving in my car, but don't worry I'm stopped at a red light. I just liked the shine on my hair and for whatever reason, I look incredibly focused, which I doubt I was since I was at a red light and more than likely listening to some Catch-22!

Day 17: Stairway To Heaven
These are the kitchen steps at my parents' house. I have taken a spill on these more times than I care to acknowledge, especially since they've been tiled. However, I think the tile gives them personality and I love the lattice on the side. My mom and dad do some amazing work around the house!

Day 16: The Music Man
This guy plays guitar and sings at dialysis every other Friday. He's pretty good, but I, and pretty much every one else there, wishes he wouldn't use the microphone. He should just play acapella; we're in a relatively small space and the mic just makes it too loud, especially at 8 in the morning!

Day 15: "I Like Them Pig's Feet"
I took this picture in the Publix meat section. I just thought it was awesome that you could actually purchase pig's feet in the grocery store! Yes, I know that people eat them; No, I am not one of them, but still....I've never actually seen them packaged in a store!

Lily Rose Day 20: Bag Cat

I went to dinner with Jason at Olive Garden tonight and brought home leftovers. Well, you'd think the cats would want the food, but Bella was more interested in the paper bag. She has this weird obsession with bags and boxes. I don't understand it....But anyway, so this is a shot of her in the bag on the floor in my kitchen.

Lily Rose Day 14: The Cats' View of My Apartment

So I didn't feel too well at dialysis today, so I was unable to really get out and take any decent pictures. I was hanging out with my kitties tonight though and laid down on the floor with Bella to take some shots of her when my stereo and stacks of cds caught my eye. I realized that by laying on the floor, I was probably getting a pretty good cat perspective of my apartment. So here it is, my home from a cat's POV.

Lily Rose Day 13: Put Your Mouth On My Bloodied Knees

It's been raining in Gainesville the past couple of days, so it's been hard to get out of my apartment to run errands, much less take pictures. However, I braved the storm to go to Publix to get some groceries, and even though it was raining, like any true Floridian I wore flip flops. Well, I almost ate it on the way inside, but I managed to somehow balance and catch myself. I was not so lucky on the way back out however; it had started raining harder and I made it all the way to my car door and ate it HARD! I landed with my right leg outstretched in front of me and my left leg bent up underneath me. :( So this is the physical damage I sustained, though my ego is far more bruised especially since there was a man getting into the car in front of mine. I will give him credit though, he didn't actually come help me climb up the side of my car, he did ask if I was ok and was observant enough to say "Wow, that looked like it hurt!" AHAHAHAHA Hey Thanks a bunch man!

Lily Rose Day 12: Running, But Not Getting Anywhere....

I must confess that I set this shot up myself, by turning on the spicket. It did turn out a little cooler than I anticipated though; I like that you can actually see the droplets farther down and can see the water pooling up on the ground. I could just be being slightly biased however.

Lily Rose Day 11: Stormy Skies of Gainesville

I took this picture while driving around Gainesville. It was getting ready to storm big time....and I got it on film, well on memory card anyway. It was sheer craziness to see the sky so dark at five o'clock in the evening, but here it is.

Lily Rose, Day 10: Jason!

Jason has been wanting to join the blog, but hasn't been able to get his goofy hands on a camera yet, so he's my picture of the day. I think you can see why. On top of being an awesome guy, he plays along and goofs off for the camera like no one else I know. I promised him he'd be my picture of the day because he's the best model EVER! You don't even know!!

Lily Rose Day 9: Go Gators! National Champions AGAIN!!

So, I took my friend home after watching the BCS National Championship game and since I had to drive past University Avenue anyway, I decided to go down and take a few shots of the post-win madness! I know it's a blurry shot, but I think you get the picture. lol Pun intended....
The streets were blocked off by cops and huge trucks, so that no cars were actually on the biggest part of University Ave on campus. So I got detoured down one of the side roads, where I parked in the first spot I found and walked the rest of the way to campus. It was the most exciting thing I'd seen in quite some time, namely the last time we won a national championship title! I heard that the street lights were greased this year! hahaha So this is Gainesville Rock City when the Gators win! GO GATORS!!!!

Rack 'Em Up

I took this picture at my friend's house. The table was already set up, but I added the pool stick to the mix. There's not much to it, but I thought it was the best one of the day. It could just be my opinion. lol

Lily Rose Day 7: I Am Loved....in so many languages!

I got these buttons at the mall yesterday from a jewelry store. I hadn't been too inspired by anything I saw today, so I decided to work with them and see what I could come up with. The store used to only carry the buttons in English, but they offered a brochure that you could order the other languages from. In the spirit of welcoming and acknowledging all the different cultures that will be taking part in this project here is what I came up with, a heart that says "I Am Loved" in 11 different languages. Enjoy!

Lily Rose Day 6: Never Look Back

I was riding out to the mall with some friends to grab something to eat at Ruby Tuesday's and for whatever reason the traffic in my side mirror caught my eye as being very photographic. Maybe it's just me. It's basically showing how cluttered life is most days, especially around "rush hour". Welcome to the newcomers and thanks for the comments to everyone else.

Lily Rose Day 5: My Life-Line

I don't know how many of you are familiar with dialysis and since it's a major part of my life, I decided to take a picture of the machine after I got hooked up this morning. Basically what you are seeing is about a cup of blood that is drawn out of my body, filtered of the toxins and then returned to my body through a catheter in my chest. This is my job four hours a day, three days a week. I have made a lot of friends since I started dialysis and lost some too, either to kidney transplantation or, unfortunately, death. I chose this picture in memory of Ms. Annie Cummings. May she rest in peace.

Lily Rose Day 4: My Babies!

These are my babies and they make me so happy! They are the most charismatic cats that I think I have ever known. They are polar opposites in personalities, but they both mirror me on any given day. Tommy is the more reserved, homebody side of me, who is content just chilling at home or, if the mood hits me, hanging out with a few close friends. Bella perfectly represents the more mischievous and rambunctious side. The side that has to be in everything and is always finding just enough trouble to keep everyone on their toes! So here's pictures of two of my personalities....hahaha

Lily Rose Day 3: The Future

So this is my friend's 3 year old little girl that I babysat Saturday night for a couple of hours while he went to see one of his friends, who is being shipped off to Iraq. She is the most amazing little girl I know, so incredibly bright, a sunny disposition and looks to boot! She's going to rule the world, one bottle of water and cell phone at a time!

Day 2: "Load 'em up" by Lily Rose

Three days a week, twice a day and several buses travel to and from the dialysis unit. They pick people up and they drop people off. Some of the drivers are awesome, others not so much. Most of the time we have the same driver each day we ride, but every once in awhile the office switches it up on us. You know, to keep us on our toes.
